Linda Farmer and Family

Meade County Schools is proud to announce Mrs. Linda Farmer as a 2024 Greenwave Legacy Honoree, recognized for her exceptional dedication and impact throughout her 36-year career in education.

Mrs. Farmer was introduced on Opening Day, August 5th, before an audience of more than 650 Meade County Schools teammates by her colleague and current Board Member, Mrs. Sandy Smith. Linda carries a legacy of educators in her family and is a proud graduate of Meade County High School.

Linda began her career in 1975, serving the Flaherty community as a teacher. Her deep love for the Flaherty community was evident throughout her 23 years of service there. In 1998, Linda transitioned to the school counselor role at James R. Allen Primary, now known as Barry Hahn Primary, where she served for 13 years.

Mrs. Farmer is known for her unwavering belief in the importance of addressing the basic needs of children to ensure their success in the classroom. Her genuine love for all children, ability to connect with parents, and a compassionate listening ear for staff members made her an invaluable asset to the schools she served.

Mrs. Farmer's commitment to education is mirrored by her family, whose dedication to the Meade County community continues to shape the lives of many. Honoring her as a Greenwave Legacy Honoree is our way of recognizing the significant contributions she has made to our district."

Mrs. Farmer’s fierce love for her family is well-known, and she continues to cherish her husband, Dennis, her children Jared, Ben, and Jessie, her son-in-law Vince, and her grandchildren.
